The two-day conference "Destination Italy 2020", promoted by Confturismo and overseen by the Fondazione Rosselli, will be investigating strategies to exploit Destination Italy and to develop the entire tourism sector. It will examine the issues involved by offering comparisons between representatives, experts and professionals from the institutions and the fields of economy, tourism, culture and the Made in Italy industry.

On the first day of proceedings, the conference will begin with an opening plenary that includes a speech by the leader of the Democratic Party (PD), Walter Veltroni. This will be followed by three contemporaneous sessions discussing tourism promotion of the Italian brand in the world; material and immaterial networks for tourism development in the territories; and the need for friendly urban contexts for both residents and visitors.
The second day of the Conference will feature a round table debate introduced by Jacques Attali, President of the well known French economic think tank the Commission pour la Liberation de la Croissance Francaise, along with representatives from the Italian State as well as those from the public administration, industrial and financial sectors.
