In Q1 2009, 86% of people in Luxembourg claimed  to have  been using the internet regularly in the past 3 months, according to the Statistics Portal for Luxembourg. 96% of them went online at least once a week.

More than half of internet users (52%) in Luxembourg used instant messaging to communicate in realtime by text. 34% read blogs, while 12% create and update their own blogs in the first quarter of 2008, according to the survey on the use of ICT by households in 2008 by STATEC. eCommerce

66% of internet users in Luxembourg purchased products/services online in the last 12 months to the survey conducted at the beginning of 2009. The level reached 62% among female and 70% among male. Those aged between 25 to 54 years old, are the age group the more likely to buy online.

Among the top category of products/services bought online are books/magazines/educational material (58%); travel accommodation booking (53%); other travel booking - transport tickets (49%); Events tickets (45%), followed by DVD/music (40%) and sportswear (35%).  (Luxembourg Statistics Portal, February 2010)
